now governor brown is taking emergency action, trying to ease that pressure on your wallet. bob redell is live in cupertino right now where five bucks a gallon unfortunately becoming very common out there. bob, good morning. what's going on with this, man? >> reporter: good morning, jon. i'm sure people wish it was $5 a gallon, you can see it's well over that at this 76 station in cupertino. what happened yesterday is the governor, jerry brown, of california directed the california air resources board to allow the immediate production of the cheaper winter blend of gas. now, this should immediately increase the supply of gasoline and in theory lower these prices that in recent days have skyrocketed. now, of course what you're looking at here, $5.39 for a gallon of gas, that is an extreme. there's cheaper but it's still very expensive. here are the latest numbers from aaa. sf a gallon is running on average just over can say 4.70. oakland and san jose just under $4.70. those prices represent a 46 to 47-cent jump over just the past seven days. usually california does not switch
